Due to the relaxing of restrictions due to COVID and a guarantee of the playing space for the program at the Glendale Sports Complex, we are now able to extend our offer within our public classes further. The 1:6 rule (1 coach for every 6 children) will now be extended to 1:8 (1 coach for every 8 children).
We are hoping this extension will greater availability to families looking for an affordable, professionally coached program. It is our staunch belief every child should have access to a high quality sports and education experience and we feel this is a step in the right direction.
Do not forget our referral program is still running! For every child that signs up and attends a class on the back of a referral, you will receive 1 free class for your child.
Summer vacation has arrived! First, during what has been clearly a testing time, we wanted to thank you all for being part of the first half of 2021. Your flexibility and support have been huge factors to the program’s success so far. Thank you, again.
As summer vacation implies, we are aware many of you will be away on trips and at various camps. We look forward to hearing about them all when you return! We wanted to take this opportunity to ensure every family has the same communications so when you do return, it leads to an easy transition.

As one of the longest members of the program, Logan Kim fully embodies what it means to be part of SoCal Youth Sports. He has become a big character in our classes and he is enthusiastic and curious. Whether it is building his own remote control car or video game, Logan has a hunger to know and do more! He is constantly asking why, attempting how, and ploughing through any obstacles on the way of his own success. It is this curiosity and this consistent display of courageousness (Brains + Bravery) in every challenge he has set that has really begun to shine through from when we first met.
This week’s blog posting is from a special guest based in the UK, Gráinne Yeatman. Gráinne is a specialist speech and language therapist and dives into the world of communication with children. She talks about the power of sport and how children can use sport to grow and understand their emotions. She gives us adults tips on how we can support our children in communicating these emotions with us.
Let us put the hurdles, sticks and slalom of cones away. Keep work away from playing. Keep the kids not just IN the game but IN LOVE WITH THE GAME!
