Newsletter #2 – Summer 2021 Updates

Summer Updates

Summer vacation has arrived! First, during what has been clearly a testing time, we wanted to thank you all for being part of the first half of 2021. Your flexibility and support have been huge factors to the program’s success so far. Thank you, again.

As summer vacation implies, we are aware many of you will be away on trips and at various camps. We look forward to hearing about them all when you return! We wanted to take this opportunity to ensure every family has the same communications so when you do return, it leads to an easy transition.

  1. Glendale Sports Complex:
    • Many of you attending our Glendale classes have already experienced playing at our new location at the Glendale Sports Complex. We are delighted to have acquired a space here and it will hopefully have a large part to play in the ongoing development of the program.
    • During the summer, the Complex staff and ourselves will be working tirelessly to ensure the highest quality experience for you and your children, as well as our coaching team. Improvements including new sheltered benches and fences have been introduced to create a good quality surface to play on. We will also work to fix up the grass area with new seed!
  2. COVID-19 Updates:
    • With the situation concerning the global pandemic developing constantly, we will be following guidelines set by State and local governments. With restrictions being lifted on outdoor sports groups and venues by the state of California and local governments, we are happy to announce we will also be repealing our mask mandates and social distancing requirements at our classes.
    • If you would like to continue wearing a mask, please continue to do so. Our coaching staff are more than happy to be as accommodating as possible.
    • If you have any questions please contact Matt via matt@socalyouthsports.com – Please label any COVID-19 concerns, “Urgent-COVID,” in order to accelerate finding solutions for your concerns.
  3. Public Class Updates:
    • Due to the relaxing of restrictions due to COVID and a guarantee of the playing space for the program at the Glendale Sports Complex, we are now able to extend our offer within our public classes further. The 1:6 rule (1 coach for every 6 children) will now be extended to 1:8 (1 coach for every 8 children).
    • We are hoping this extension will greater availability to families looking for an affordable, professionally coached program. It is our staunch belief every child should have access to a high quality sports and education experience and we feel this is a step in the right direction.
    • Do not forget our referral program is still running! For every child that signs up and attends a class on the back of a referral, you will receive 1 free class for your child.
  4. We Are Hiring:
    • SoCal Youth Sports is looking for people who are passionate about young children and sports to deliver soccer classes for children aged 3-16.
    • Our mission is to enable all children, regardless of socio-economic background, age, and accessibility, to a high-quality sporting experience. This means unrestricted access to classes and professionally coached classes in a personalized atmosphere.
