THE SOCAL CAMP EXPERIENCE · CONFIDENCE
“I want to
try again.”
Soccer camp confidence can begin with a small moment: a child loses the ball, stays involved and chooses to have another go.
For a parent watching from the side, that next attempt can mean a lot. Their child is finding the courage to make a decision and trust themselves.

A MOMENT PARENTS RECOGNIZE
When the next move belongs to your child
Picture a player receiving the ball. A teammate moves into space. An opponent comes closer. The player has a choice: pass, turn or carry the ball forward.
At our Glendale Nike Soccer Camps, coaches create games that give players opportunities to make those choices. They guide the challenge while leaving room for the child’s own ideas.
Sometimes an idea works. Sometimes the ball goes to the other team. Either way, there is something to notice and another chance to play.
That is the experience we want to offer: a child feeling supported enough to get involved, make a choice and come back for another attempt.
HOW WE CREATE THOSE OPPORTUNITIES
Small games give soccer camp confidence room to grow
Our camps use nano-sided games: small, fast-moving games that keep players involved in the action. Each child gets opportunities to read the game and choose what to do next.
Frequent involvement gives players decisions to make with the ball and without it.
Campers are grouped by age and ability so coaches can shape the game around the players.
Coaches offer guidance and encouragement while giving players room to try their own ideas.
Our individual-first approach puts each player’s confidence, understanding and ownership of their game at the center of the camp experience.
LOOK FOR THE SMALL MOMENTS
What could progress look like?
Your child’s next step might be joining a game, asking for the ball, trying a pass or staying involved after a mistake.
It may also be enjoying a scrimmage with new teammates or feeling ready to take part in the camp tournament.
Children arrive with different experiences and grow at different paces. We aim to create an encouraging environment where they can find a challenge and enjoy taking part.

A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT GOES WITH THEM
Give their next attempt some support
After camp, try a question that invites your child’s own story: “Was there something you wanted to try again today?”
They might tell you about a new move, an unexpected pass or a game they loved. Let them decide which moment mattered.
Something to celebrate
“I noticed you kept going after that. What did you try next?” A little encouragement can leave space for your child to explain their own decision.
