WEEK OF OCTOBER 5–11, 2026

Holiday camps, the final days of FREE classes, and a look ahead to our partner tournament.

Looking for soccer classes this week in Pasadena, Glendale or Burbank? We’re helping families plan their next sessions, looking ahead to Thanksgiving and winter camps, and sharing why giving children room to make decisions matters.

This week’s highlight: Thanksgiving and winter soccer camps

School breaks give children time to play, make friends and enjoy something different from their usual routine.

Our Nike Soccer Camps at Glendale Sports Complex, offered through US Sports Camps, bring that opportunity to the field with small games, plenty of involvement and coaching that helps players build confidence.

WinterDecember 21–23, 2026Glendale Sports Complex

Both camps welcome boys and girls aged 5–14, with players grouped by age and ability.

Choose half-day camp, 9 a.m.–noon, or full-day camp, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Check the booking page for current availability, prices and what to bring.

Our smaller games give children frequent chances to get involved, try ideas and learn from what happens next. Whether your child is building confidence or already loves competing, there is room to grow.

Keep an eye out: an end-of-season partner tournament

We’re planning a one-day, Ryder Cup-style tournament to bring together players from our partner soccer communities.

The event is being developed for invited groups, including AYSO Burbank, Glendale Youth Soccer League, Pasadena Youth Soccer League and selected existing partners.

Expect a greater emphasis on competition than during our regular league season, while keeping the children’s experience at the heart of the day.

This is an invitation-only partner event. We’ll share the date, venue and participation details with the relevant groups once confirmed.

FREE soccer classes end October 15

There is still time to introduce your child to our early-years classes before the current FREE class offer ends Thursday, October 15.

From a toddler’s first kick alongside a parent to a young player joining games independently, our classes help children explore soccer, make friends and enjoy being active.

Our early-years options cover ages 18 months–6 years, including Mommy, Daddy & Me sessions with a parent or caregiver. Choose the age group and location that suit your family in Pasadena, Glendale or Burbank, and check your selected session before coming along.

Why we give children room to decide

You might notice our coaches giving children time to solve a problem before stepping in with an answer.

A player sees the ball, a teammate, a defender and a space opening up. Choosing what to do is part of learning the game. Our coaches create small games, adjust the challenge and offer guidance while giving children opportunities to try their own ideas.

Why don’t we shout instructions at kids during soccer? We want to help children notice the game, choose an action and adapt when the picture changes. Giving them space to think is part of that learning.

Parents can help by celebrating effort, encouraging another attempt and enjoying the unexpected moments.

Try this on the touchline this week: replace a direction with encouragement. “Great effort!” gives your child support while leaving the next decision with them.

For a read you can enjoy now, our existing parent article explores this approach and how families can enjoy game day together.

Was your class moved or cancelled? Check Playbook

If your class was affected by a cancellation or schedule change, please check your Playbook booking and account for the replacement date or any pass or credit adjustment recorded for your session.

This is particularly relevant to families attending Pasadena Sunday morning classes.

If your booking is unclear or you cannot find the updated session, contact us before travelling to the field so we can help check it.

Help more local children play

Local businesses, families and individuals can support youth sports in practical ways—from helping a player access a season of soccer to supporting a team or providing equipment.

Our sponsorship options give supporters a starting point, and we welcome conversations about contributions that fit a particular community or need.

We’re also exploring a proposed community sports hub: a longer-term place for play, learning and connection. The idea is still developing, with no confirmed site or opening date.

If you can offer funding, equipment, expertise or help connecting the proposal with local civic partners, we’d love to hear from you. Future project partnerships and possible naming opportunities can be explored as plans develop.
